Day 1 - New Jalpaiguri Station / Bagdogra Airport – Gangtok
Arrive at the Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri station, then travel to Gangtok, the Sikkim capital. Once you get there, check into your accommodation in Gangtok. The evening is free time. Stay the night in Gangtok.
Day 2 - Gangtok –Tsogmo (Changu) Lake –Gangtok
Start your 55-kilometer (one-way) journey to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 feet) and Baba Mandir (13,200 feet) after breakfast. Stay the night in Gangtok.
Day 3 - Gangtok – Lachung
After breakfast at the hotel and continue for driving to Lachung enroute passing villages and water falls. Stay the night in Lachung.
Day 4 - Lachung – Yumthang – Lachung
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a trip to and from Yumthang Valley. The flower valley. Rhododendrons, Primulas, and other plants are abundant. The Yaks' summer grazing areas are in Yumthang. Visit the Sulphur Hot Spring, which is on the way back and is thought to have therapeutic qualities. Stay the night in Lachung.
Day 5 - Lachung – Gangtok
After breakfast, depart for Gangtok. Reach Gangtok by the end of the day. Stay the night in Gangtok.
Day 6 - Gangtok city sightseeing – Pelling
Following breakfast at the hotel, go on a tour of the city, stopping at Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Do Drul Chorten, the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sundays), Cottage Industry (closed on Sundays), and the Flower Show Complex. Drive from Gangtok to Pelling in the afternoon. This settlement has a stunning view of Mount Kanchenjunga and is located at a height of about 2000 metres. check into your hotel upon arrival. Stay the night in Pelling.
Day 7 - Pelling – sightseeing
Visit Pemayangste Monastery, Rabtense Ruins, the Helipad, Rambi, Darap, Khechipalri Lake, Kanchenjunga Fall, and Rock Garden after breakfast. Stay the night in Pelling.
Day 8 - Pelling – Darjeeling
Breakfast followed by a transfer to Darjeeling (6,710 ft.). Arrive, check into hotel, and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Darjeeling, stay the night.
Day 9 - Darjeeling -sightseeing
Visit Tiger Hill in the morning to enjoy the spectacular sunrise and Himalayan Mountains, including Kanchandzonga, Mount Everest, etc. Just before sunrise, the horizon changes hue, and the entire Himalayan range turns golden. On the way back from Tiger Hill, one may see the 15-foot-tall image of Mythey Buddha at Ghoom Monastery, which was established in 1875 and is the oldest monastery in the area. Following breakfast at the hotel, take a city tour that includes the Tenzing Norgay-founded Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), the Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), the Tibetan Refugee Center (closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, and the Happy Valley Tea Estate (from outside). Darjeeling, stay the night.
Day 10 - Darjeeling -New Jalpaiguri Station / Bagdogra Airport
After a hearty breakfast at your Darjeeling hotel, head to Bagdogra Airport to catch a flight or to New Jalpaiguri Station to catch a train back home. The holiday is over. Keep in touch via Facebook, email, and let's get together again for another special holiday. We'll talk soon.
